Om
2 Om Book Study & Discussion Group “Tomorrow’s God”
Humanity
is about to create a new form of spirituality. This New
Spirituality will allow humans to express their natural
impulse toward the Divine without making one another wrong
for the way in which they are doing it, and without killing
one another in the name of it. When the New Spirituality
is embraced by humanity, it will, of course, change everything.
And that is exactly what is needed now.
This book contains an astonishing prediction. And that prediction
comes from an astonishing source. Author Neale Donald Walsch
says it comes directly from God. Whether you believe that
or not, you will find it difficult not to be swept up in
the startling and profound vision of our near future contained
here.
Tomorrow's God says, point-blank, that humanity will soon
re-create its experience of God in such a way that our experience
of one another will be healed at last. You may agree or
disagree with the contents of this book, but you will never
forget having read it.
Come and join us each Thursday evening, from 7:30 -9:30
p.m., as we explore how old spiritual practices, old belief
systems and the old way we learned about God keeps us from
exploring our divinity. Through this book, you will be guided
towards a new relationship that offers you a new approach,
new outlook and a new life.
Each evening begins at 7:30 and ends promptly at 9:30p.m.
A $10.00 love offering is asked for each evening.
SEVA
Atlanta
's homeless population
on an average night is estimated at 11,000 by Research Atlanta.
Families are the fastest growing segment of the homeless
population, primarily comprised of single mothers with children.
Most of these individuals never dreamed that they would
be homeless. Poverty, lack of affordable housing, eroding
job opportunities, mental illness, domestic violence, chemical
dependency, desertion or death of a parent or spouse and
catastrophic illness all are causes of homelessness.
Many of these people simply need a chance – a helping hand
to regain lives of self-sufficiency. Om 2 Om’s SEVA program
offers relief to those who are affected by this growing
Atlanta
problem as well as supporting clients such as
refugees and relocated immigrants that are referred by other
non-profit agencies. We have operated this SEVA program
exclusively with individual donations from our community.
What SEVA is:
A multi-faceted program that provides emergency assistance
and immediate practical support including food, clothing,
financial assistance and case management to Atlanta’s homeless,
impoverished and those in need. There are multiple programs
and ways that you may be of support.
1)
SEVA
Sunday – Every 3rd
Sunday of each month. Immediately following “the un-Church”
service, the community comes together with community donated
supplies such as bread, cheese, lunchmeat, cookies, water,
fruit, etc.; compiling these items together, making bag
lunches. We take these lunches, along with clothes that
have been collected and deliver them to people in need in
and around Downtown Atlanta.
2)
SEVA
Food Pantry – an on-going
collection and distribution of non-perishable food items
and toiletries to those that are in need. The collection
and distribution of these items truly support people who
are getting back on their feet and this is just the helping
hand that can support them in getting through a difficult
time. We ask that when you are in the grocery store, please
remember this program. Pick up a few extra non-perishable
items and bring them with you to Om 2 Om. We keep a cabinet
full of the items and if you know someone who is in need,
let us know and we will supply them with groceries to help
get through a difficult time.
3)
SEVA
Clothing and Household Item Collection – an
on-going program that collects and distributes clothing
and household items to those who are in need or getting
back on their feet. We ask that you bring your clean and
useable clothing and household items to us. We distribute
the items through the homeless community as well as serving
other non-profit agencies that support their clients as
they are moving into homes, job interviews, etc.
Currently
we are serving over 250 individuals each month. Through
the generous support of people like you, our loving volunteers
can expand our practical support and touch more individuals
in a unique and powerful way. We appreciate any and all
support that you can provide.
